### What are scraps and chips? How do I earn them?
Scraps are the currency Fabricate uses for your design projects. You earn scraps based on the tier of your project. These scraps can be converted to a hardware grant at a rate of 10 scraps = $5. The leftover scraps convert to **Chips** once you build your project, progressing you along the path and earning rewards. 

### I don't have a soldering iron. How can I get one?
We'll allow you to get the soldering kit from the path before building your project in this case.

### Are Hackatime-banned individuals allowed to participate?
Sorry, no!

### If I don't spend my whole grant, can I get the extra converted back to scraps?
Yes! Just make sure you return the grant card in HCB and we'll give you the amount returned in scraps.

### Can I use auto-routing software?
No. You must do your routing manually.

### Can we use tools like Ergogen?
You're free to use it to experiment with layouts and make design decisions, but the actual placement of the footprints and schematic has to be done manually by you.
